fall jackets!


I had a couple of requests for recommendations for fall jackets for fall! We already had jacket weather and I pulled some of my favorites from previous seasons. I've owned most of these for several years and I love them so much. They are simple and classic and perfect for layering! I'll wear anything from a dress or tank top to a sweater underneath, depending on the weather. Let's take a look at some of my favorites!

Size: I scaled down one size to an XS in this case, but it makes layering difficult to work with except for very light layers. So keep this in mind when ordering.
This one is pretty light, but I love that it's a coated canvas so it's more rain repellent when needed. The gold hardware is just stunning and the jacket is so classic.

Size: I'm small in my usual size, it fits an oversized touch that I like.
This denim jacket is thicker than most, but soft as butter. I think it's great that it's a bit oversized so I can put clothes, tanks or sweaters underneath. This one is a bit expensive, but I've worn it so many times that it's 100% worth it.

Size: I increased one size to medium.
I just bought this super cozy jacket and I already love it so much! It's super soft and I love the brown details with the cream colored fleece. I love oversized for layering or wearing leggings. Plus, it's a great price!

Size: I reduced one size to XS. This jacket runs big.
This is probably my most worn one of all. It's super soft and warm and tends to be the jacket I reach for more of course. Plus, the gold hardware is just so pretty and there are tons of pockets! (Mine always have dog delicacies for walks in them!)

Size: I reduced a size to size 0. I usually wear a size 2 (which fits like a small one) with this brand so I would definitely say this size is large.
I bought this last spring and was so excited to be wearing it and then we sat home all spring! It works well for fall too, so hopefully I'll wear it a lot this season too. Plus, it's so classic it should take forever!

Size: These are usually large, I've reduced one size to XS.
This exact fleece has been a J.Crew staple for several years and I hope they bring it back this season! In the meantime, I've linked to a very similar option. This is ideal for throwing on exercise gear or wearing on long walks. It washes well too, I just don't put mine in the dryer.

Sizing: This is from last year and is from a different retailer, but is SO similar to the one I linked for the sizing.
I wore a TON of this zippered fleece last winter. It was perfect for quick walks with the dog, over workout clothes, or just for quick errands. I love the high neck and the chunky fleece pile. I found the almost exact version from last year and it's also available in a really gorgeous beige!

When buying my wardrobe, versatility is important to me. When I know I can't carry a part in multiple ways, I rarely add it to my closet.
